Get Involved - Volunteer

Introduction

Fancy getting stuck in before, during or after the festival? There are hundreds of different jobs to be filled by June and anyone can get involved. The jobs vary dramatically from paid stewarding, free volunteering, art installations, decorations, site building, site cleanup and more!

Volunteering with Seed Staff

Before, during and after the festival we have volunteering roles aplenty for you to get your teeth well and truly stuck into. Volunteer opportunities range from Build & Decor crew, Load Down crew, Production Assistants, to Transport Assistants, Accreditation Staff, Programme Sellers and many more. They can be hard work, are inevitably chaotic but a great experience and a serious amount of fun. In return for your hard work you’ll get to attend BBL 2012 for free, get some great event experience and enjoy the mayhem. Its loads of fun, a great way to meet people and great experience for anyone interested in events. Volunteers have to complete around three 8 hour shifts (dependant on the role) and pay a deposit. This is refunded once all 3 shifts are completed. There are a variety of roles, some involve working before or after the festival and some involve working during the festival. Either way you’ll have plenty of time off to enjoy the festival.

All of Beach Break Live’s volunteers are supplied by Seed Staff, a festival staffing company that provides staff to dozens of festivals across the UK. BBL is the first Seed Staff event of the festival season so working in an unpaid role at BBL can lead to further paid work at festivals throughout the summer!

For full details and to apply to volunteer at BBL please go to Seed Staff and follow the instructions on the page ‘Work at Festivals’.

If you have any questions check the FAQS on the Seed Staff website or go to the Seed Staff contact page.

Stewarding

The Stewards are the eyes and ears of any festival. Through supporting the festival’s security team stewards are vital to the well being of the ticket holders and the smooth running of any event. The work is very rewarding, a great way to meet new people and most of all see what goes on behind the scenes of a music festival.

This is a voluntary position and requires a deposit to secure your position and will be refunded once your shifts have been completed.

Art Installations

Every year we endeavor to build a beautiful, unique and beach friendly site that will blow the minds of all attending, with giant sand sculture, wicker mammoths, light shows, man made gardens and much much more. But to do this we need your help and being our 6th year anniversary we are looking for some special installations.

To get involved whip up a quick proposal of your idea including materials, time and costs and Click Here

When writing you proposal make sure think hard about how to make your installation safe and importantly ... Hardy!. The bigger, the cheaper and the most beautiful will be snapped up. In most cases we will pay for the costs of the installation so keep thinking like your on a student budget! Some random ideas for inspiration could be: 1000 umbrellas stuck in a tree, a giant archway made of picture frames etc... Get Creative

Installation by Laura James.
