BBL is about more than just music. Absorb a library of entertainments.... a beach holiday.... outdoor pursuits... not to mention the assorted stuff ’n’ nonsense.... participation is actively encouraged. Surrealism may not be everyone’s cup of zebra fur, but it certainly swings our chandelier.

In 2007 Beach Break Live developed its very own sense of mischief and random fun. In 2008 we forged forward with even more carefully crafted chaos; curated by the esteemed Mr. Hugo Tracey, illegitimate lovechild of David Hasselhoff and Christopher Biggins, and Jimbo, his rib tickling, cute comedy nephew. 2009 saw the wonderfully silly Bearded Kittens provide us with some of the funniest moments of the festival at The Cornish/Kentish Games Arena where the Chester boys, lap danced their way to a sensationally sordid victory over the lads from Sparta.....!

2010 will push the already vertically momentous bar higher. We’re talking:

...Silent Discos, Fancy Dress Finale’s, Workshops – burlesque, cocktail making, parkour, circus skills, magic school, mask making, yoga, craft making, knitting, graffiti battles, ballroom dancing....vintage funfair fun, beach volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, surf trips, swimming, pub quizzes, Open Mic, WORLD CUP footie action, giant chess, giant skittles, giant dominoes – in fact all manner of things ‘giant’, Hot Tubs, street theatre, mass paint fights, market stalls, kite flying... the list goes on, and on, and on...and on a bit more. Not forgetting the music, the ski slope, the beach, the toboggan run (yes, I know, a toboggan run...totally random, but totally brilliant), and of course you guys creating your own unique festy fun.

BBL 2010 is a never ending work in progress so keep checking back for updates on everything planned for your truly epic BBL ‘oliday’. Calling all soldiers of silliness. The Celtic Games are open for business! Bearded Kitten are back, bringing you a whole host of seriously silly games designed to test your wit, stamina and stupidity. Pit yourself against other teams and battle it out to the final day to lift the Golden Goblet. Crowned champions Pool Party at Michael's will be back to defend their title after winning FOUR FREE TICKETS for Beach Break Live at last years festival.

Your e-mail must include four people, a team name, a fancy dress theme and a description of why you should be chosen. Celtic Games for BBL 2010

‘Fruit Fishing’ Hilarious game where a friend has to lower a bit of fruit into the other friends mouth, only the fruit is on the end of a fishing line and the other friend is stuck to a seat. - Brilliant.
‘Jelly Wrestling’ This title needs no description. Fun to play, fun to watch and girls in bikinis smearing jelly into each other.
‘Giant Skipping’ -Can your team stay in time to break the record.
‘Slippery Tug of War’ - Teams go head to head in a fight of strength and agility, all standing on a slippery, watery tarpaulin.
‘Sumo Wrestling’ - Two Competitors fight it out wearing fat suits, the fist one to knock their opponent out of the ring, wins.
‘Granny Grand Prix’ - We dress up teams like grannies and tie their shoe laces together. The grannies then steam off over obstacles and attempting granny like activities to try and win the race.
‘Dressage’ - Couples or teams of two don a jocky out fit and a horse head, and then trot around the area trying to impress the judges (who are made up from the audience) .
‘Giant Gladiators’ - Teams of 2 tower up and become gladiators, they then battle it out and try and knock each other over with a variety of comedy weapons including a red herring and some squirty cream .
‘Backwards Sack Race’ - Competitors jump to the finish line but with a small twist - They have to do it backwards.
Fat Camp: Competitors must fight there way through an obstacle course wearing enormous comedy fat suits. Squeezing through holes that are just a tad too tight to negotiate and between bars too slight to manage. Good luck fatties!

Jam Tart. 11pm Til 2am Every Night at 'The Leeky Sheep Pub'

Every night, as the main stages quieten down, head on over to the 'The Leeky Sheep Pub' for 'Jam Tart'. This world class jam session/open mic features a house band crafted from the finest session musicians in the UK. The 'Jam Tart' band members have previously backed artists such as Amy Winehouse, Frank Music, Pixie Lott, Plan B, Jazmine Sullivan, Basement Jaxx and VV Brown and we've invited all the major acts from 'Beach Break Live' to come and jam til the early morning, so expect to see some cameo's from your favourite artists and bands.

We're also looking for up and coming artists/bands/rappers/poets to come and play a song or two each night. If your interested in playing, send us ONE of your original songs in mp3 format ONLY (sending 2 will disqualify your entry.....sorry), we'll have a listen and if we want you to play, we'll contact you and let you know when your slot is. If you dont hear from us, its because you didnt get a slot. There are a limited number of slots available, your performance cant involve complicated instrument changes (we've gotta keep the night flowin') and there wont be a sound check earlier in the day or anything like that......this is seat of your pants performance! We'll have microphones, a drum kit, bass and guitar amps and a keyboard you can use. Feel free to bring your own guitar or bass or kazoo or trombone or meat flute or whatever it is you use, just remember it must be quick to set up!

We wont have time to learn any new material but we'd love to jam along with you if you dont mind (unless your a full band of course)?

Student Kitesurfing Association Jam Competition

Kitesports is one of the fastest growing sports not just across the UK but worldwide. Pembrey beach is one of the UK’s best locations for this sport with ideal conditions, so what better place to show it off.
With so many Kitesurfers coming from all the University’s across the UK we thought this would be an ideal opportunity to have a fun competition where anyone can get involved!
On one of the days during the festival (Wind Dependant) we will be holding a jam style format competition, all you will need to do is, Sign up to the Jam, go out and ride and that is it. Riders will either be judged not just on being the best, but for all types of things trying to keep it as fun as possible for people of all abilities.
Not into kitesurfing yet? Well why not give it ago at the event with Blast Kite Boarding. They will be offering lessons on the beach for complete novices so once you have seen what can be done on the water you can then go give it ago!
Competition Requirements : Be up and riding safely & bring proof of 3rd Party Liability Insurance (BKSA, BPKA Etc..). No Insurance no riding, sorry to be the kill joy!

Beach Break Live is proud to present some of the world’s finest Kitebuggy Freestyle riders to showcase the extreme end of traction kiting. Craig Sparkes and Will McKean, members of the Traction Kiting Team at Flexifoil, a global leader in power kiting, will be showcasing a world class demonstration of their talents, hot from recent International demonstrations in Las Vegas as well as national tournaments here in the UK.
You’ll be amazed to see the phenomenal lift, power and speed that these guys can generate to perform exceptional tricks and stunts using just the forces of nature. Get your adrenaline pumping just by watching, then be sure to grab yourself a kite and have a go!

The All New Retro Fun Run

Pull out your retro sports gear and lace up your sneakers ­ the BBL festival run wants you to join its team. Take part in an 80s style aerobic warm-up:
squats, lunges and Mr Motivator arm curls obligatory, before zooming around the sun-drenched (trainers crossed!) festival site like a giant 80s dressed snake.

Cruising up hill and down dale you'll take in all the BBL highlights, from the beer tents, sandcastles and ski slopes to the stages and sandpits so there'll be no missing out on any festival shenanigans after this whistle stop Jane Fonda guided tour! A sprint finish along the sands will see our 80s troupe reach their climax. High Fives all round and prizes for the best muscles/flashiest lycra/fastest feet will include sportswear, make-up, eats and treats. Feel adrenaline pumped and get ready to party!

Free Running with The Urban Heroes

The Urban Heroes Free Runners are returning to Beach Break Live 2010!
Anyone who saw them last year will be pleased to hear that the Urban Heroes are back. The Free Runners will perform amazing acrobatic feats on a purpose-built structure, performing 3 shows every day, and be jamming the rest of the time. If you fancy trying your hand at Free Running, the team will be running an Extreme Hangover Cure every morning, come on down and sweat out that alcohol!

The Plastic Hearts return for their 3rd year in a row. Purveyors of glamour, glitter and gaiety. He'll be holding magic masterclasses as well as wowing the masses around the site with his skills - so sign up for a workshop at the event and look out for him amongst the crowds. Here's a wee bit about the man, the legend, the magician...

At just eighteen years old, Ollie Mealing is one of the UK's youngest and most talented professional card magicians. From Plymouth to Edinburgh and everywhere in between, Ollie has been invited to amaze the guests and VIP's at hundreds of events with his outstanding level of card magic. With performances at nearly every major UK festival as well as countless appearances at private and corporate events, Ollie's abilities really do have to be seen to be believed!

Dirty Beach

Over the years dirtybeach have made sandy mirth at music festivals and set mighty world records. Sandy Andy has made some amazing beach sets and now his team are producing their own TV show, which you could be part of this year at Beach Break Live. They build installations, both big and small, throw the best beach parties around and tend to clean up loads of rubbish and litter off the beach as they go. The dirtybeach crew recycle art and inspire creativity in all who get involved.

His brand of observational stand-up is the perfect way to chillout at the festival and a great chance to see the next generation of UK comics.

The Fancy Dress Finale...MUSICAL LEGENDS!

There will be full fancy dress support at the festival from our very own Dancy Fesser's and giving you the perfect opportunity to abuse paper mache and lay into the latex. Dressing up is encouraged but not compulsory (but anyone who’s anyone will be) (so do) (or we’ll dress you)

GODDESS BELLY DANCERS

We are The Goddess Belly Dancers. The group came together in 2006 and became a community group in 2008. We all love to dance and have supported many local charity events, carnivals and private functions. Members of the group are all from the local community. We are a fusion of traditional Egyptian and Tribal styles of dance and have drummers to heighten the atmosphere of of our routines. Our dancing includes veils, sticks, zills, swords and Isis Wings.

Other Fun

There will be plenty of other shennanigans going on including Craftwork Courses, Retro Fun Runs, wicked Grafitti Artists, Kiteboarding displays down at the beach, Unmissable Paint Fights and so many workshops you may miss all the music.
