Beach Break Live needs you...

Get involved creative children of Beach Break, in any way you wish! We’re looking for talented, unsigned bands that will bring magical joy to thousands of ears. Student theatre groups prepared to amaze, astound and maybe even confuse the masses with anything from bizarre ‘out there’ pieces for all to see...or just an outdoor production of some Shakespeare. Story tellers, face painters, hoola hooping gurus, walking talking glowing 6ft butterflies, fire eaters, designers, artists, sculptors, choreographers, bagpipe players...
From silly fun and games to epic art installations, stupendous costumes to comedy cabaret acts, we want you to come up with your own concepts that we simply must have at BBL 2010. If you have it and we like it, we'll make it happen!
So get involved, get creative and get free entry to the festival, mucho respect from your peers and a festival sized lot of fun.

Volunteers

Before, during and after – we have volunteering roles aplenty for you to get your teeth well and truly stuck into. Volunteer opportunities range from Build & Decor crew, Load Down crew, Production Assistants, to Crew Welfare assistants, Accreditation Staff, Festival Helpers, Traffic Assistants and many more. They’re hard work, long hours, inevitably chaotic but great experience and a serious amount of craic. In return for your hard work you’ll get to attend BBL 2010 for free and enjoy the controlled mayhem (and be a crucial attendee at the big post event ‘wrap party’.)

The Big Eco Race

A race to the festival… with a difference. Our fume free odyssey involves a joyful journey to Beach Break Live in the most efficient time BUT WITH THE SMALLEST CARBON FOOTPRINT. The victor’s podium will probably be possessed by a pogo-sticking, hitch-hiking, raft-riding, wind-surfing, hang- gliding, pedal-pushing group of Beachbreakers. More formula fun, than Formula 1, the Eco Race will be judged by taking into account distance travelled, maximum possible speed of mode of transport chosen, level of ambition and imagination - but most of all with a sense of humour.

The winning group will get a hero’s welcome, be wantonly worshipped during the main stage prize giving, receive VIP upgrades for the whole event - and can choose an environmental charity for us to make a donation to. Additional prizes will be given for ingenuity / stupidity and for bringing the least practical item possible to Beach Break Live.

Art Installations

Beach Breakers, get your creative juices flowing. We want your artistic ideas, big or small, from fantastical art installations through to general festival decor.

This is a great opportunity to get involved and lay your creative stamp on the festival.

We have a series of areas we need your input with.

1. ART INSTALLATIONS: Beach Break is waiting to house your bizarre/beautiful/brilliant installations. You have freedom on the size/material/theme of your installation. These can be installations you have already built, or something you always wished you had the funding to build (within reason).

2. The site is covered with many Welsh trees. We want your oddball ideas as to how we can make these even more spectacular. Anything from entwining their branches avatar style with hundreds of fairy lights, through to attaching giant googly eyes creating our very own Beach Break Live living forest.

3. Although we have tried our very best to get new and imaginative/innovative styled marquees and venues, all our bars remain a blank canvas for you to extend your creative genius upon. The bars are rectangular shaped buildings with a rectangle hole cut into the front. Paint, stick, carve into...pretty much anything you think of that will make these bars fit for our lovely people that drink at them will be considered.

In return for your artistic brilliance, we pledge to you free entry to the festival and a weeklong of Beach Break Live Style fun
