Beach Break Live with DELL is about experiences. More importantly it’s about combining experiences. One minute you’re sun bathing, then you’re watching a band, next you’re snowboarding. Enter Wales – Britain’s very own Wild West. The rugged coastline and stunning countryside provide the perfect backdrop for those near-the-edge experiences and have turned the country into a magnet for fun busters and adventurists from all over the UK. Being based in Pembrey Country Park we are able to fulfil the Beach Break Live dream and bring you some of the best extreme sports and outdoor activities on offer. Check out the below for a taster of what’s in store for 2010...

Pembrey Ski Centre


Acres of stunning parkland? Check.
8 miles of glorious beach? Check.
130m floodlit dry ski slope? CHECK!!!
Pembrey Country Park has its own dry ski slope for y’all to utilise – offering snowboarding and skiing lessons for beginners or just some time to ski/board in your own merry way. With the Gower Peninsula as a backdrop and an amazing view over Carmarthenshire Bay, this is a true gem for 2010.

Go Ape


Bring Out Your Inner APE in a Tree Top Adventure!! (new for 2010)

Think you and your friends can handle 3 hours of tree top adventure? Are you wild enough to climb 30ft up a rope ladder, Tarzan swing into a giant rope net then zip wire through trees, crawl through tunnels and tackle high wire rope bridges? If the answer’s yes, you’re ready to Go Ape. GoApe is located in the park – so other than your own two feet no travel is needed. You’ll have to pre-book your monkey session before coming down as places are limited so check the below for how to do just that.

Horse Riding


Feeling a touch of cabin fever coming on? Worry not, for the Park has its very own Equestrian Centre and is offering you guys the chance to leave the twinkly lights and magical sounds of BBL (briefly) behind and embark on a tranquil horse ride through the stunning surrounding forestry. Be at one with nature...and yourself...at least until your next trip to the dance tent. Not your average festival activity but that is what makes it so great. Ye- ha!
To take advantage of this activity you will need to pre-book your ride (so we can get the horses ready and know the numbers.)

Tornado Rib Rides

Surfing


Seemingly impossible to master yet totally gracious to watch when the experienced liquid ballet dancers get their groove on. Surfing is definitely back on the agenda this year. Although Pembrey is not famous for its waves, on its day it can be a cracking little pearler. We’ll be on our prayer mats again to Gilgermesh, God of Summer weather to throw some swell our way. Surf WSF will be running surf lessons for beginners at the nearest beach with surf

Surfing Lessons:
This includes surfboard and wetsuit for the lesson and transport to/from Llangennith from the festival. WSF Surf School specialise in teaching absolute beginners to surf but improvers are also catered for! You will be picked up from the festival at 9am to have your lesson between 10am and 12pm and you should be back at the festival by 2pm

Kite Sports


Beginner and advanced powerkiting, kite surfing and landkiting sessions... it’s all g’wan down at the beach...

Powerkiting

Powerkiting is an exciting and easily accessible sport. Simply enjoy the thrill of flying small foil kites; learn scudding (sliding along the beach on your feet) or start trying some jumps using the kite to boost you up in the air!
If you don’t live by the sea, then this course will give you the skills you need to start practicing in the park. Use some bigger kites and start learning to jump. Easy way to have a fun filled Blast!
What you need to bring with you: Sensible sturdy pair of shoes, sun cream, sunglasses and warm clothes if it’s cold!

Landboarding is kitesurfing’s dryer land brother! If you don’t want to get wet, or still want to get your kicks but don’t live close to the sea, then give landboarding a blast. Once you’ve mastered your kite control, you’ll be on a mountain board and riding. If you already mountain board, then you should definitely give it a go: no hiking up hills, and you’ll get much more air!
Blast Kiteboarding will be able to teach you all the basics to getting started in this awesome sport. What you need to bring with you: Sensible sturdy pair of shoes, sun cream, sunglasses and warm clothes if it’s cold.

Kitesurfing

The ultimate in kite sports, this is the fastest growing sport in the world!
Combining Wakeboarding, surfing, snowboarding, windsurfing and power kiting it appeals to a huge audience. Whether it is cruising on smooth flat water, boosting big jumps, riding waves or practicing your freestyle moves Kitesurfing is easier than ever to learn. Blast Kiteboarding are experts in Kitesurfing, having been involved in all aspects of the sport since it first appeared in the UK.
What you need to bring with you: towel, swimming costume, sun cream, sunglasses, and warm clothes if it’s cold.
